When the story doesn’t work, change the story. Not the footage

PROBLEM
OPPO partnered with FC Barcelona to build brand awareness in Europe. A third-party agency had already produced a hero film, but it lacked clarity and wasn’t delivering the message. Reworking from scratch wasn’t an option.


INSIGHT
The issue wasn’t the footage. It was the storytelling. With the right narrative structure, the existing material could be reshaped into something more meaningful and engaging.


IDEA
Reframe the story using what we already had. Instead of forcing a single narrative, we built multiple stories from the same footage, each with a clearer emotional and product connection.


EXECUTION
We re-edited the original material into two hero films, supported by a system of social cutdowns. This extended into GIFs that translated football culture into shareable moments, bringing the brand into everyday conversations. The campaign was completed with social content and a dedicated website, creating a cohesive experience across touchpoints.
